The real reason defending champion Spain was eliminated

Defending champion Spain was eliminated from World Cup 2014 after losing to the Netherlands 5-1 June 13, and to Chile 2-0 today.

Twitter user @DiosTuitero (Tweets from God) shared a photo of Canadian singer Justin Bieber holding Spain’s World Cup kit by Adidas.

The Spanish tweet said “Divine Punishment.” @DiosTuitero has over 117,000 followers, and while we are not sure of the connection with this user and a higher power, we feel he, or she, is on to something!

Chile will play Netherlands to decide the leader in Group B June 23. Spain will play their final game against Australia the same day.
